Overview

Do you enjoy talking to people and have a passion for educating? This could be the perfect fit for you. Help inform
guests in an entertaining and educating way about a variety of animals in Safari-Off Road Adventure! When giving a tour
on one of our open-air military vehicles, you’ll never have the same day twice. You’ll see animals that are playing, giving
birth, and watch them grow up. No previous animal experience is needed. Interested in working in the animal field? This
position is a great starting point! Please note this is not a hands-on animal position. The Safari season is from MarchNovember with training starting in January/February. Applicants that do not meet qualifications will not be considered
for this position but may be considered for other positions at Six Flags.

Responsibilities

Learn, memorize, and retain scripts and animal facts.
• Interact with guests in a fun, informative and respectful way.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time on the trucks and on station.
• Speak on and off microphone to large groups or one on one regarding the animals in the safari.
• Use daily logs to check sound equipment on the trucks.
• Maintain clean and sanitary work areas.
• Respect Six Flags’ property, equipment, trainers, team members, and supervisors.
• Adhere to all Six Flags and departmental policies, including but not limited to attendance, punctuality, and
grooming guidelines.
• Be able to safely secure wheelchairs to the trucks.
• Report any animal abnormalities or abnormal park conditions to the appropriate person in that area.
• Ensure each guest has a memorable experience by entertaining and educating each individual they come in
contact with.
• Maintain cleanliness of the guest side of all exhibits at Base Camp and the off-road trucks.
• Complete any and all tasks as requested by Safari Management.
• Assist with ride operations of Safari Off-Road Adventure under direction of Station Supervisors.
• Effectively and professionally communicate on radio maintaining clear and concise transmissions.
• Cross train with other departments performing tasks essential for daily operation including but not limited
to gate guarding, rides attendant and station operator.
• Support our Save an Icon conservation initiative by promoting that to our guests.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• Strong public speaking skills and outgoing personality strongly preferred.
• Acting or previous guide experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to talk on microphone to large groups as well as one on one.
• Able to work outdoors and be exposed to all weather conditions for extended periods of time.
• Available to work at least 3 days per week throughout the season. This must include weekends, holidays, and
nights.
• Able to communicate effectively in the English language, including the ability to read, speak, write, and
comprehend.
• Willing to learn in all different methods including PowerPoint, hands on, reading, and written assessments.
• Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, climb stairs or into large off-road vehicles, bend, stoop,
reach, twist, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Able to work around a variety of different animals.
• Must be a team player and treat co-workers, management, and other departments with respect.
• Cross train with other departments performing tasks essential for daily operation.
• Must maintain strong commitment to safety.
• Must be willing to cross-train as a station attendant.
