Responsibilities

The Wardrobe Department is looking for a motivational team leader. The Supervisor will provide direct leadership
to the Wardrobe sewing room staff in the Wardrobe Department Operation. The Supervisor will oversee training,
instruction and the daily operation of various aspects of the sewing room and costume shop in the Wardrobe
Department.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily sewing room and costume shop operation. The Wardrobe operation provides construction,
distribution, cleaning, and repair of all Park uniforms, Character and Show related costumes.
• Assist with window, laundry and uniform duties as required
• Supervisor is responsible for modeling and ensuring 100% safe work practices and strict adherence to all Wage &
Hour guidelines.
• Overseeing and coaching all Wardrobe Technician staff in Park and department procedures.
• Training Wardrobe Technicians in the production of or refurbishing of character costumes.
• Pattern garments and oversee construction/repair of character and show related costumes and park uniforms.
• Inventory management and organization of all character and show costumes.
• Organizes and plans for the acquisition, production and distribution of all costumes for shows and special events.

Qualifications

Qualifications:
• Basic knowledge of sewing machinery to include: sewing and over-lock machines, cutting equipment,
laundry equipment
• Sewing-related problem-solving skills.
• At least 3 years experience in garment production work construction.
• Prior leadership experience
• Working knowledge of costume designs and costume production
• Experience with mascot style characters, foam and fur.
• Vocational or technical trade certification preferred.
• Proficient use of industrial sewing and overlock machines.
• Availability to work a variety of shifts - including weekends, nights, and Holidays
• Prior Entertainment experience preferred, but not required
• 18 years or older and possess a valid CA driver license
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Must have a basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel


Physical requirements:
• Constantly standing, talking, climbing walking, reaching, using finger movement, grasping, feeling,
speaking clearly, hearing conversation, using hearing acuity, seeing near far, stooping, bending,
kneeling.
• Working in extreme heat, sun, cold, wetness, humidity and temperature change.
• All lifts over 51 lbs. require help from a coworker or mechanical device.
• Overtime of adults may be required from time to time to accommodate the business need.
• Working with noises above 89 decibels.
