Overview

Directly responsible for supervising the daily functions of the Safety department. This position is accountable for delivering a superior guest experience, while enforcing all park policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret, implement, and update the Safety Compliance Manual, Emergency Response Manual, First Aid Standard Operating Procedures, First Aid Patient Care
  • Protocols, and support Corporate Safety and Health Standards.
  • Conduct accident investigations to determine the root cause of guest and employee incidents.
  • Maintain all Material Safety Data Sheets on all chemicals for the property.
  • Prepare and coordinate the health and safety audit, and the audit process. Monitor to be certain recommendations are being implemented within agreed timeframes.
  • Create and maintain a total safety culture.
  • Coordinate planned and unannounced inspections from outside agencies and insurance companies.
  • Perform daily inspections at various Park sites to verify compliance with Park safety standard.
  • Monitoring and ensuring compliance with all relevant aspects of the Corporate Safety and Health Compliance program, and Safety policies and procedures.  
  • Supervising inventory of park safety equipment  
  • Ensuring 100% compliance with all safety code and OSHA regulations  
  • Responding to requests for safety, medical, and other related issues throughout the property  
  • Performing audits and inspections as directed by Safety management  
  • Supporting and up-holding the mission, goals, and objects of the Safety Department  
  • Interacting with other EMS, Fire, and Police services as required to promote patient care and transportation  
  • Complying with departmental requirements regarding documentation, data input, and information handling  
  • Enforcing all Six Flags policies  
  • Assisting in other areas of the Safety Department  
  • Performing other incidental and related duties as required and assigned
  • Other duties as assigned.

Pay Range: $17.50/hr.

Reports to: Safety Management Team

Qualifications

  • Two years safety experience
  • Must have minimum certification in CPR
  • Must be able to complete non-routine tasks as assigned 
  • Must be able to demonstrate excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Superior front line customer service focus required 
  • Must possess strong leadership, motivational and organizational skills 
  • Candidate should be detail oriented and able to manage multiple tasks 
  • Must be computer literate, especially in MS Word, Excel, and Power Point 
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license 
  • Will be required to work various shifts as project and park needs dictate, including nights, weekends and holidays.  
  • Must Complete NIMS ICS courses 100/200/700/800 within 1 month of hire date
