Lifeguard Hiring Event

JOIN US ON SATURDAY MAY 16TH, 2026 FROM 10AM-4PM FOR OUR LIFEGUARD HIRING EVENT!

• Date & Time: Saturday May 16th, 2026 from 10:00AM-4:00PM
• Location: 542 N Route 12 Gurnee, IL 6003

When you arrive to the employee entrance please proceed to the candidate parking area. After parking you will go through Security at Gate 4 and from there you will be directed to the Human Resources building.

At Six Flags Great America, work is FUN! Working as a Lifeguard means you’ll keep our guests safe in Hurricane Harbor pools and waterpark.

You’ll also…

• Earn a PAID lifeguard license.
• Monitor and enforce the waterpark rules in our pools, slides, and lazy river.
• Receive continued training.
• Learn to properly use and store rescue equipment.

Already hired and just need to complete your paperwork?! No problem, stop on in and we can help with that too!

• Test equipment daily before opening the attraction to guests.
• Enforce park policies, attractions restrictions and recommendations.
• Ensure safe operation of the ride and make certain that queue lines are safe and orderly.
• Assist with the loading and unloading of the attraction to include small children and guests with disabilities.
• Opportunity to train on different attractions in all areas of the park.

• Minimum Age: 15
• People who interact well with others from all backgrounds and age groups.
• Individuals who work well within a team with a commitment to safety.
• Availability to include some weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
• People who love helping others and will support the needs of our guests and associates.
• Individuals with the ability to complete a paid aquatic certification class.
